Current status: No update.

eJabberD won't start properly. 
I checked the eJabberD log files, and found nothing of value to me,
so I wrote a ticket for our IT staff who administrates that server
at 10:14 today.

Now it's 8 hours later and I only got an automatic reply with a
ticket ID, but no actual response.
Ironically, today was monthly "maintenance day" in our department,
which was also the reason I rebooted the server today.
(If I hadn't rebooted the server, our staff would have done it
four hours later.)
At least them being busy could explain why I got no answer yet,
Although that's little comfort.

Just in case anyone has an idea, which I could then forward to our
IT staff, here is the ejabberd.log from the time around the reboot:

The reboot happened between 10:03:16 and 10:04:36.
