As a corporate user of Saros whose environment does not leverage XMPP internally, I would like to be able to use my Microsoft Active Directory or Lync infrastructure to connect individuals who will be using Saros across my enterprise's multiple locations and not expose any coding activity outside of my company's network for security purposes.

While we still need to talk about this feature request, I thought this solution proposal might help you for now:

If the feature is mainly needed for the reason to not expose any coding activity outside your company's network, then you can achieve that with the current XMPP architecture by set up your own XMPP Server inside your enterprise network [1].

Of course your developers would still need to create a separate XMPP account in order to use Saros. I understand that it would be nicer to be able to use the current AD-Accounts for this.

The whole Saros application is "hardwired" to XMPP in almost all places of the code. Do not expect to see any other supported network environments than XMPP in the near future.
