Overview
DPCIManager now contains four sections:
- Status, which provides hardware information important to system status and hackintoshing
- PCI List, which lists the PCI devices found by the IOCatalogue, along with their IDs, resolved names, and a finder function which either returns the currently loaded kext, or applies fuzzy logic to find possible kext matches
- Misc, which includes a VoodooHDA node patch calculator, and ROM flashing solution powered by DirectHW and flashrom
- Toolbar, with ACPI table extraction, kext cache rebuilding, /S/L/E permissions repair, kext installation, and web options for list submission and updating.
- Extract DSDT to file
- Repair permissions on the /System/Library/Extensions directory
- Rebuild kext cache
- Install kext to /System/Library/Extensions
- Update seed data for kext suggestions
- Update PCI IDs database
- Anonymously submit PCI List for the pci.ids project
Status
The status page summarizes the important but difficult to find information about your hackintosh.
- Network devices with their BSD Names and BuiltIn status
- Graphics devices with their framebuffers and ports (quicklook icon to extract video bios)
- Audio devices with their IDs and resolved names
- Storage devices with their protocols, locations, and sector sizes
PCI List
If a kext is not currently loaded for the chosen device, DPCIManager will open a popup with kext suggestions which may or not be appropriate, please use your judgment. The suggestions are fetched from two sources: a precompiled list of kexts included in multibeast (the world/internet icon), and a fuzzy-matching performed on the current system kexts (the system/iMac icon). The fuzzy match may be useful if your device is similar to, but not exactly the same as, an Apple-supported device. Many fuzzy matches will be inappropriate, exercise caution when creating an injector/"codeless" kext.
When examining suggestions, the following icons denote the match type:
- One silhouette means IOPCIPrimaryMatch
- Two means IOPCISecondaryMatch
- Three means IOPCIMatch
- A home icon means IOPCIClassMatch
- A book icon means IONameMatch
Misc
Contains a miscellany of useful tools
- VoodooHDA node calculator for HDA audio nodes (inputs/outputs)
- BIOS ROM flashing, reading, and patching
- Chimera boot log viewer
