[Doxygen-users] HTML markup after @par broken?

Just after a @par tag doxygen doesn't interpret HTML tags. See the
following example:

/**
 * @mainpage Example
 *
 * <tt>this works</tt>
 *
 * @par <tt>why do we see the "tt" tag here?</tt>
 */

I'm working with doxygen 1.2.13.1
