yeah, run a "splat" to change all the occurrences of your struct A to something like struct struct_A. -----Original Message----- From: Greger Haga [mailto:gre...@ya...] Sent: Tuesday, 2001 July 17 02:28 To: dox...@li... Subject: [Doxygen-users] doxygen fails to document class A struct B, workaround? Hi! Have a problem: one class and one struct are declared with the same name: class A and struct A. It is indeed illegal to have two types of the same name to compile I know, nevertheless both have to be documented. Doxygen treats both as the same! The resulting docs mix members of both the struct and the class into the class's documentation. The struct is not documented at all. Does anyone know of a workaround to fool doxygen to treat them as diffferent entities? Greger _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Some small lay-out problems in Doxygen 1.2.8.1=20 For the rest I can't complain! :-) ----------- First of all in the configuration file: If I define next line: "PROJECT_NAME =3D Base plug-in" Then Doxygen makes the title : 'Baseplug-in Documentation' in the output html My spaces in between are lost!=20 ----------- Second, next function definition generates a \code \endcode that is far too much moved to the right in the output html. It would be nice if the code example is not moved that much.=20 /// Get the Prefix string of the output data set at 'aiIndex' /*! @return the Prefix string without number or path @param aiIndex index in from m_sOutputDataset[]. Example: \code =09 m_sInputDataset[0]=3D"c:\blabla\Bone\BoneX0000.bmp" string sPrefix=3DGetInputPreString(0); .. //---> sPrefix contains "BoneX" \endcode \see m_sOutDataset, m_iNrOfOutDataSets, GetOutFolder */ string GetOutputPreString(int aiIndex); Olaf Baeyens Skyscan |

Hi, This mail is to announce the existance of a mailing list for doxygen developers (this list has actually been there for a while, but so far I never really used or mentioned it). The list is meant for development related discussion, patches, language updates, and such. For this purpose messages can be up to 500K in size (on the users list there is a limit of 40K). Subscription information can be found at: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/doxygen-develop Regards, Dimitri |

It usually helps if you split up the source tree into several (coherent) parts, run doxygen on each of these parts and link the parts together using tag files. Regards, Dimitri |

Hi, I am getting the following error when Doxygen is building the member list: Run-time exception error; current exception: xalloc No handler for exception. zsh: IOT instruction bin/doxygen DFARClass This is with Doxygen-1.2.8-20010715 (but I also got it in 1.2.7) on a Solaris 2.6 machine, and it is being used on a very (very) large source tree. Just thought I'd report it since I have no idea why this would be happening. :) Cheers Stephen |

From my perspective, I was first planning on looking at the detailed description and then look at the summary info. The problem that I'm seeing is that the table becomes very wide (some table renderers seem to not like to wrap tables) which throws off the rendering of other page elements. Things which should be centered (horizontally) are not visible on the page unless I use the brower's scroll bars. I'd like to have the summary description match the layout of the detailed descriptions, but that's a less high priority for me. I would imagine the longer-term solution would be based on the xml generator which is being working on. joe On Mon, Jul 16, 2001 at 10:19:19AM -0400, Wagner, Victor wrote: > You must be talking about the summary info, not the detailed info, right?? > > -----Original Message----- > From: Joh...@ub... Joe's suggestion might help us with our common specific problem however this mail chain make me wonder if it would be preferable to have a more general solution - one that would allow personalisation of the formatting algorithm by for example an optional runtime plugin (ie on unix a .so file or NT would use a .dll file - dunno what other platforms offer for this sort of thing). This approach might help avoid a proliferation of compiler and runtime switches for other formats that users might wish to define. Moshe, I think the sort of thing you describe can most easily be done in a custom header and/or footer file. I attach two examples of files similar to what we use. You also need to point to these files in the doxygen configuration file. If you use header.html and footer.html as we do for these filenames, set the following options in your configuration file: HTML_HEADER = header.html HTML_FOOTER = footer.html Hope it helps. Hi, It has been a while since the previous CVS update, but here is what changed in the meantime: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- + CHG: Completely rewrote the way templates are handled. Doxygen now (internally) computes all template instances it encounters. This has the following advantages: - template instances are now shown in the hierarchical index and in all class diagrams in a uniform way. - the list of all members is now correct for classes deriving from a template. Since there is a lot of new code, some more testing won't hurt to mature the code. If you are using templates, please try this version for me and report any problems. + BUG: Fixed a null pointer referencing problem (thanks to Nick Pratt) + ADD: Included update for French translation (thanks to Xavier Outhier) + ADD: Made preprocessor parse error messages somewhat more informative. + BUG: 8-bits characters are now correctly handled within the argument of \b, \c or \e. + ADD: Included update for doc/translator.pl + BUG: Reimplemented links were broken for grouped members (thanks to Johan Eriksson for the fix). + BUG: Enabling the TREEVIEW didn't result in proper RTF output (thanks to Paul Sydney for the fix). + BUG: Fixed some typos in the docs. Thanks to Wouter Slegers. + BUG: Merged patches by Joe Bester: - Could not link to @anchors in the main page on external packages. - All external modules and pages were linked to or appended (even the TODO page, etc), even when EXTRACT_ALL is set to NO. - The section containing structs and unions is labeled "Class Documentation" (in the English translation) even when + BUG: using the IDL keyword "import" in other languages did not work correctly. + BUG: members of a privately inherited base class were not shown in the list of all members, while they were accessible from the derived class. + ADD: Using the non-commercial version of Qt for windows, it is now possible to build doxywizard for windows. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy, Dimitri |

Thanks, Stephen. Let me make myself a little clearer: I want to preserve the standard header, ie: Main Page Modules Class Hierarchy Alphabetical List Compound List File List Compound Members Related Pages Examples but add to that a search button of my own. I want this set up to appear on every page of the output. Thus, I need to know how to modify the header that is already there to accommodate my button.... I wish to plant a Search button in the standard Doxygen header (so that it will appear on every page of the HTML output), in order to grant access to users to a non-Doxygen search engine. Does anybody know how I would do this? It seems I will have to go into the code and make the change there, but WHERE in the code? David Cramer wrote: True, but then there is two footers generated..not good enough...but thanks..of course it's easy to hack it but don't like to do that...( which I'll probably eventually do anyways ) Should be a feature I think to mix the generated pages( which are darned excellent btw ) as you like to get a documentation package customized just the way you want. Perhaps there could be "doxygen variables/objects", e.g. in the style of javascript document object to allow for true customization. e.g. invent a new tag to insert what you want within a page created by the \page tag: \doxygenobject DoxygenObject where DoxygenObject would be e.g. : [ MainPage | Modules | ClassHierarchy | AlphabeticalList | CompoundList | FileList | CompoundMembers | RelatedPages ] etc. etc... Good, bad, possible you think, Dimitri? Also, I lack the possibility to customize the condensed index...it's great and easy to navigate, but when you create pages with the \page tag, they are added to Related Pages ( or have I missed a feature? ) though I wouldn't like to have them there. In the project I'm doing now is kind of special and I want everything to 'spawn' from the main page. You could run the tool twice and nab classes.html from the previous run (like you do with tag files if you want to do link to external documentation).
