I am new to Doxygen but I really like its ability to read C without any IDE dependency. I'm looking to create comprehensive graph alternatives to UML using Doxygen XML output, but I don't know XML very well. Is there a resource (or source file) that could give me a leg up? My progress so far has been to use the combine.xslt to create one big XML file, which has worked but I'm at a loss of what would be next (my "attempts" history for dot conversion are here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/66407288/convert-xml-to-dot-dotml). I'm sitting on windows as well. My hope is to have one big dependency graph for file organization, but integrating call graphs and the rest of what Doxygen can do normally would also be great. If I can get just the dependency part working, the rest will come easier I would think. Having fully-combined graphs would be a future goal. I'm willing to do/learn some xslt if that's what it takes, but I need to know what Doxygen is likely to output. -Brandon |

Hi everyone, Enthusiastic advocate of Doxygen here! Our docs are public and published at: https://core.sasjs.io Question. We'd like to generate more traffic, and hence improve SEO by updating the META tags in the HEAD section. For sure we can modify the header.html HOWEVER that doesn't allow us to apply _page specific_ attributes. For instance you can use $brief to add a project brief, however it doesn't seem to be possible to use something like $briefdescription to get the @brief value from the page itself. I tried using @htmlinclude but this part gets inserted into the body. Is there any way to insert content into the head section, from within an arbitrary documentation page? You can see my attempts here: https://core.sasjs.io/mv__createjob_8sas_source.html /Allan |

Hello, while creating documentation for my project using doxygen my source code directory contains sub-folders and many files, I only want to generate documentation for the documented entities and despite I check the "Documented entities only" option in Wizard -> Mode and the "HIDE_UNDOC_MEMEBERS" in Expert - > Build and also I have tried too many other changes in the configuration, the output still contains a list of all the header files in the source directory no matter if it is documented or not. Is there a way to fix that ? Thanks in advance Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards Alaa Eltabei Diehl AKO Stiftung & Co. KG, Pfannerstraße 75-83, 88239 Wangen im Allgäu Bereichsvorstand: Dipl.-Ök. I'm having a problem with this code. LITTLE is not defined, and yet Doxygen is picking up the code between it as if it is. Specifically, it is adding rand() to the call graph, which I don't want.
I have tried using @cond @endcond, and I've tried #ifndef DOXYGEN_SHOULD_SKIP_THIS, then predefined DOXYGEN_SHOULD_SKIP_THIS, and nothing has worked.
Is there a way to do this, short of having to comment out the offending code?
Foo()
{
if ((table_pointer->table_type_1 & RANDOM_MASK) != 0) // random table
{
Do_something();
#ifdef LITTLE
f_index = rand();
f_index = (f_index % (table_pointer ->maximum_pulses_value + 1) + 1); //
control_arrays.number_of_pulses = f_index;
desired_number_of_pulses = control_arrays.number_of_pulses;
#endif
}
}

Hello all, Is there a way to have the global variables that are accessed by a function (either read or written) included in the call graph of that function? I found the "references" and "referenced by" relationships but I would need a grapghical representation. Also, is there a way to generate UML sequence diagrams straight from the code? I'm using Doxygen to document C code Big thanks! Dan |

Hi ! I'll be starting with a disclaimer : I'm using Doxygen in a weird way (at least I think) I am turning some json files into nice markdown files and then use Doxygen to generate the html from those md files (there's a lot of them) The problem I'm running into is that for some reason, some "header" (tagged with "##" for example) links end up in my navigation panel, in weird places too The markdown source doesn't seem to have weird references etc, neither in the files where the headers show or the files the headers point to Many of my filenames have underscores in them. Could that be a problem ? Here's two images to help describe what I'm doing and what goes wrong : https://i.imgur.com/ihIlTZW.png <- This is a typical generated page, with some information and headers, especially the "Properties" one https://i.imgur.com/vKeOE3j.png <- This image shows what's wrong, I've scrolled to somewhere else in my navigation panel and there's a lot of "Properties" that all link to different files, but all of them are from the same directory Here's the source <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nDW77ngHcWvAKpRdkqdgsYr1U00Tr5hp/view> And produced html/js code <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n6sXS3L07XIW9Zu-25XA3lFXwoYqP5fN/view> I hope someone can help me :) <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> Garanti sans virus. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> |

Hello all! I'm documenting some DSP code that use a language extension. I've tried to follow the documentation here: https://www.doxygen.nl/manual/preprocessing.html My function is as follows: /** * @brief Set the internal oscillator base operating frequency; the * oscillator multiplication setting is not a component * of the base operating frequency configuration. * @param[in] frequency_index Index corresponding to the desired * trim value in the calibration table. * Operating frequency index; use * SYS_FREQ_* * @return If 0, new operating frequency set If 1, could not set frequency * (no calibration found for the requested operating frequency) * @assumptions Calibration table loaded. * * @examplecode syslib_c_examples.c SYSLIB_SetOperatingFrequency_Example * @examplecode syslib_examples.S SYSLIB_SetOperatingFrequency_ASM_Example */ extern "C" uint24_t chess_storage(x0) SYSLIB_SetOperatingFrequency( uint24_t chess_storage(x0) frequency_index); My Doxyfile has: ENABLE_PREPROCESSING = YES MACRO_EXPANSION = YES EXPAND_ONLY_PREDEF = YES PREDEFINED = __attribute__(x) PREDEFINED = chess_storage(x)= According to the documentation, the above should "will make sure the __declspec(dllexport) is removed before doxygen parses the source code." However, that's not what I'm seeing. I have a warning when running Doxygen: warning: argument 'frequency_index' of command @param is not found in the argument list of chess_storage(x0) And the output thinks chess_storage is the function name: uint24_t chess_storage<group___s_y_s_l_i_bg.html#ga35208b7fdf582aa39608ca71b0d50282> (x0) SYSLIB_SetOperatingFrequency(uint24_t chess_storage(x0) frequency_index) Set the internal oscillator base operating frequency; the oscillator multiplication setting is not a component of the base operating frequency configuration. More...<group___s_y_s_l_i_bg.html#ga35208b7fdf582aa39608ca71b0d50282> Could someone help understand what I'm doing wrong? Thank you very much! Hello!
I am using Doxygen 1.8.20 on Mac OSX 10.14.6, installed with MacBrew.
Doxygen gives me many errors, all of the same type:
objects.md:16: warning: unable to resolve reference to 'spacepar\ilinebr' for \ref command
The offending line 16 is within a table:
Class | Parameters | Property
--------------|------------------|--------------
Space | @ref spacepar | SpaceProp
The tag ’spacepar’ is defined in another file:
/**
@defgroup spacepar Parameters of Space
@ingroup Parameters
@{
*/
From Doxygen’s error message, it seems that it is adding the vertical bar in the ref name,
searching for
'spacepar\ilinebr'
instead of
‘spacepar'
Doxygen is a fantastic tool. Maybe I am making an error, but the same stuff was working some time ago.
Thank you for any help!
Francois

Hi Albrecht, in addition to automatic link generation in doxygen (https://www.doxygen.nl/manual/autolink.html) you may use \anchor (https://www.doxygen.nl/manual/commands.html#cmdanchor) to define any link target and refer to it via \ref (https://www.doxygen.nl/manual/commands.html#cmdref). But maybe there is a simplier way to refer to the automatically created details-tag (<a name="details" ...>) ... Good luck - and have a nice time Peter Am 13.10.2020 um 15:55 schrieb Albrecht Dreß: > Hi all, > > Doxygen supports links to file pages by simply using the file name (e.g. > “source.c”). Doxygen has a hook for running a user specified preprocessor. You could
create a preprocessor to reformat the Python DocStrings into Doxygen
DocStrings.
Simple example in Perl (not tested):
while (<>) # read from file named by an argument or from stdin if no
argumant
{
s/^:param ([^:]):/@param $1/;
print;
}
This might not be enough. You may have to add code to detect beginning and
end of DocString blocks and only apply the substitution within DocString
blocks. Perl's ... operator is very helpful for doing that.

Hi, I saw in the mraa page that this library can be used with Linkit duo ( http://iotdk.intel.com/docs/master/mraa/linkit_7688.html) but the pinout is diferent between Linkit Smart 7688 and Linkit Smart 7688 Duo and they doesn´t inform in this page about it. So my question is how can I access the Linkit Smart 7688 pins’ with the mraa library? I’ve used the mraa library with Linkit Smart 7688 in a previous project. However, due to availability problems, we plan to adapt this project to Linkit Duo. Can someone help me? Hello all, I want to double check that I am not missing something. I am trying to use doxygen for a Python project, I submitted this issue(https://github.com/doxygen/doxygen/issues/7953) and it got solved quickly, which was amazing. Now I am trying to generate documentation for my python project that uses docstring and I think I found a missing feature. At least some projects (including some I am working with) document function/method parameters using :param {ParamenterName}: Description of the parameter to document parameters. Doxygen seems to only accept @param, which is more JavaDoc then Python Docstring. Below is a more precise example. def example_working(parameter, parameter_with_default=False): """ Use this method to show how python and doxygen work together @param parameter This parameter is amazing @param parameter_with_default This parameter is even better """ pass def example_not_working(parameter, parameter_with_default=False): """ Use this method to show how python and doxygen work together :param parameter: This parameter is amazing :param parameter_with_default: This parameter is even better """ pass Is there a way for doxygen to understand the :param: marker? Should I submit this as an issue or is it out of scope for doxygen? Many thanks, Felix |

Hello List,
just now i have used doxygen to build my code documentation.
By running the buildprocess with xsltproc i'm getting:

Hi all, Doxygen supports links to file pages by simply using the file name (e.g. “source.c”). However, the link points to the top of that file's documentation page. Would it also be possible to create a link to the “Detailed Description” of that page, i.e. something like “source.c#details”? Thanks in advance, Albrecht. |

Hello doxy-friends !
I am reverse engineering some C++ code (massive STL use)...
I did a doxygen project (with doxywizard) and it works fine if I use the buit-in class diagram generator : indeed the boxed classes are clickable and I can navigate from class to class...
but,
Since I need more graphs (collaboration, call and called by graphs) I did switch to using DOT.
The graphs are well generated BUT, the boxed classes are NO MORE CLICKABLE.
(I saw on the generated HTML that there is no <map...> instruction... compared to the HTML genrated with the built-in diagram tool)
I looked at the doxygen documentation and mailing list archive and found nothing about that....
I suppose it should work since I have another doxygen project with collaboration graph (so surely build with DOT) with clickable classes (unfortunatly I have not the doxyfile)
Did I miss something regarding DOT option or other doxyfile options ??
Many thanks in advance !
Attached is my doxyfile.
I use :
Doxygen version used: 1.8.20 (f246dd2f1c58eea39ea3f50c108019e4d4137bd5)
I use Dot :

Hi all, When generating documentation, I have header files dedicated to Doxygen comments and also header files for the code base. Initially I removed the header files that contained code from the indexing so as to only use the doxygen comments. This seemed to cause an error when generating the 'Data Structures' and 'annotated.html' page. How would I go about changing what files that are indexed for this page? Thanks for any help, Ethan |

Subject: [Doxygen-users] Link Requirements to implemented function
Hello,?
I am working on a project which is implemented in C and the requirements are documented.I have managed to create a 'Requirement Implementation' page taking reference from :Custom tags with Doxygen
[...]
In the page, it lists all the functions and which requirement they satisfy, which is good.
What I want is a page, in which it lists the Requirements and shows where they are implemented ( preferably, a link to the function)
How can this be done in Doxygen??
The @xref command should do what you need.
