Ok, feel free to ask questions :-). IIRC the ugliness is mostly that
deciding if the token should be eaten or not (so that the first of a
nested directive pops correctly) wasn't straight-forward. Although I
would argue that as long as single directives don't break, it's still an
improvement. ;-)
