I need the opposite function from DoubleCommand. I want my Mac keyboard to be mapped more like a PC keyboard. I code for Windows and Linux daily and their keyboards are almost the same, which, of course, means when I get home to may MAc at night I spend countless gobs of time pushing the wrong key and being frustrated. So, is there a reverse mapper function in DoubleCommand or does anyone know of such a piece of software?
As far as I can tell the built in mapper capabilities are inadequate to do this. I'd mostly like to get the HOME and END keys to do start-of-line and end-of-line and have ctrl-HOME do top-of-form and ctrl-END do end-of-form, then get the ctrl and alt keys in their PC locations.
Thanks,
Wesley

You're not alone, for my work I need Visual Studio a lot... Love to be able to just switch between windows/osx or run windows in a virtual machine, without all the keyboard hassle...
I type blind for more than >20 years, don't want to learn a new keyboard layout... I'm even typing on a us-keyboard layout in germany for more than 10 years, because I didn't like the frustration with Z, Y < > { } [ ] etc..

Well, the Mac standard start and end of line keys are Command+arrows, and there is a setting in DoubleCommand to map Home and End to those key combos, so that's half of what you've mentioned. Perhaps try it out and see if it works for you?

If DoubleCommand crashes during load, it automatically disables itself. If it starts crashing randomly for you, first let me know, and also you can uninstall it using the instructions on the website, or by using the /Library/StartupItems/DoubleCommand/uninstall.command script.

That is still going the wrong direction. I want to map command-left to the home key and command-right to the end key.

No wait ... maybe ... I think I misread your post. If DoubbleCommand lets me map home and end.....hmmmmmm.
Since DoubbleCommand is a kernel extension, is there a safety switch to allow booting without it in case of crashes?
