As I thought the error is explicitly handled in the library we call but for some reason VS reports it up as unhandled when the PDB for that library is missing.</p> <p> I updated the external library to include the PDBs in the NuGet packages, upgraded to that version and rebuilding then causes VS to no longer report the exceptions as unhandled.
