#225 v.1.4.0: Slow execution of XyWrite on X11

I have been using DOSEMU on X11 to run XyWrite, a text-mode word processor.

Under DOSEMU v.1.4.0 on X11, XyWrite runs at an horrendously slow rate (there is a noticeable delay between the appearance of each character on the screen).

XyWrite runs at normal speed under v.1.2.2, and also under v.1.4.0 if the latter is run at the console rather than on X11.

Have you tried this:
$_hogthreshold=(0)

I stopped using DOSEMU for this purpose three years ago, but I seem to recall that tweaking 'hogthreshold' was one of the things I tried.
