Please see the website for a quick fix to the new year 2010 problem: http://www.doselab.com/?page_id=29 This problem will not exist in versions 4.5 and higher (due for a release in a few months, likely to include a better normalization GUI and compiled with the latest version of MATLAB for maximum Windows 7 compatibility). 4.11 changes the way DoseLab reads binary Pinnacle files. Now files written by the 810 systems are read correctly. There are no other changes, so only Pinnacle users should upgrade. Nathan |

The new version contains Gafchromic uniformity corrections, dynamic wedge film calibration, and starshot analysis. Please go to: http://www.doselab.com/download.html to download. Nathan Childress, Ph.D. |

The webpage linked to an old version of DoseLab, so if you downloaded=20 DoseLab 3.05 please uninstall it and get version 4.00. The setup file is=20 only 1.5 MB, but it requires the 100 MB Matlab setup. Sorry for any=20 confusion. http://www.doselab.com/download.html Nathan |

DoseLab 4.00 has gamma index calculation capabilities, but the film=20 calibration software has been removed. It will require you to download a 10= 0=20 MB Matlab setup file to run on computers that don't have Matlab installed. http://www.doselab.com/download.html Nathan |

DoseLab version 3.05 has been released. Major changes include: · "Comments" and "Treatment type" fields have been added to the patient information screen. The "Patient ID number" is also able to save non-numeric entries. · You may now read treatment planning system files directly from DoseLab, without having to first convert them to TIF files. During the "open file" dialog, select the extension that represents your file type. · You may now access previous dose comparisons without saving anything other than the MAT file. While opening a computed image, select a *.MAT extention. · There is now a program to delete patient identification information from MAT files - useful for sharing dose comparison information. · The absolute and percent dose difference images use a new colormap that more clearly distinguishes "sort of bad" areas from "really bad" areas. · The FTP program now handles file types other than TIF. Please see the new "Ftp program.txt" preference file for more information. · You may now right click on images and lines and interactively change many of their properties. If an image has contour lines displayed on it, you may have to right click a corner of the image to see this menu. · The single image analysis program now has a recently used files menu. · A new comparison tool, 2D dose/distance histograms, has been added. This brings up an image showing a 2D histogram showing the percent of the comparison that has various values of distance to agreement and percent differences. This tool is useful for determining dose and distance criteria. · The retrospective analysis program has been updated. Histograms are now shown that more clearly represent differences between selected parameters. For example, if you select "dose normalization" as functions of "treatment month" and "treatment site", you will see a line graph that plots the normalization as a function of time and a histogram that shows the average normalization for each treatment site side-by-side. · All the usual minor bug fixes. You can go to http://doselab.sf.net/download.html to download the latest version. As always, let me know if you have any questions or find any bugs. Nathan |

This is a minor update, with some improvements and small bugfixes. Go = to http://www.doselab.com/ or http://doselab.sf.net/ to download the new = files. Here is a summary of the changes: =B7 The flatness and symmetry program can now be used in the standalone, = Matlab-independent version of DoseLab. The symmetry calculations now = find the maximum difference in symmetry along the width of the profile. =B7 An image smoothing program has been added in the "Image tools" menu = of the Single image analysis program, along with the ability to flip and = rescale images. =B7 The normalization routine defaults to an autonormalization of all = points between 70% and 90% of the maximum computed dose if no points are = manually selected. =B7 Error messages are now displayed as popup boxes. =B7 The CMS to TIF option now flips its output vertically to match = CMS-displayed images (thanks to alukban via the DoseLab forum). =B7 All figures automatically print out with a landscape orientation. = Using the portrait orientation will clip off portions of figures. =B7 The film orientation GUI now can adjust the orientations of both = measured and calculated images. =B7 Linear and cubic spline interpolations in the Film to Dose program = have been sped up significantly. =B7 The standard deviation divided by the average value is now displayed = alongside each calibration box in the Film Calibration program. Also, I will be displaying two posters related to results obtained with = DoseLab at the 2003 AAPM meeting in San Diego. Go to = http://www.doselab.com/publications.html to read the abstracts. This will likely be the last new DoseLab release for a while. - The TPS to TIF conversion program has been updated with "Eclipse DCM2ASCII output" and "General ASCII import" options. A file necessary for reading DCM images is also included that was missing in Version 3.02. - Most display screens have a basic 3D display option now. Click the "Plot 3D" menu and a new figure will open with the 3D plot. Click the button that looks like a circular arrow to rotate the 3D image. This feature is pretty gimmicky, but really neat to look at. - The flatness and symmetry program (available in Matlab only) has been slightly updated. - The DoseLab update file is now an installation program that automatically extracts all files to their proper directories after backing up your preference files. DoseLab 3.02 has been released. Go to http://doselab.sourceforge.net/ = or http://www.doselab.com/ to download. Version 3.02 includes a program that converts Pinnacle, Eclipse, CMS, = Helax, Plato, and RIT images to TIF files. Our clinic cannot = extensively test these conversions (examples from the program ePin were = used to generate and test these conversions); thus it is recommended = that all conversions be carefully checked.
