Device "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR"

Dorgem 2.1.0 lets me select "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR" (the only entry BTW), but the preview is always black.
Other programs can work with that device (a Sony DV camera) and capture pictures, but your program is the only open source one I could find so far (therefore yours is the one I am mostly interested in :-)
The Dorgem3-pre-alpha-1 gives at startup the following error:
wxVideoCaptureWindow Error #439
Error: Unable to draw this data format.
It then shows in the window on top:
Event Log for wxVideoCaptureWindow
EVT_VIDEO_STATUS: Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32), Version: 5.1.2600.2180
EVT_VIDEO_ERROR: Error: Unable to draw this data format.
EVT_VIDEO_STATUS:
EVT_VIDEO_STATUS: Live window

I'm afraid this has to do with the fact that Dorgem relies on VfW and does not has DirectX support. Which "other programs" are you referring to?

(1) In Accessories the "Scanner and Camera Wizard" allows me to take snapshots.
(2) Yawcam also can work with it (but it isn't Open Source :-).
(3) Movie Maker 5.1 could capture video from it.
(4) The Program "ImageMixer", which came with the camera (Model TRV22E, about 4 years old), can additionally also capture with a USB connection.
I used the IEEE 1394 with all those programs (and for Dorgem).
I am still using Windows XP-SP2, but I plan to upgrade to Ubuntu in the future. So I hope your cross-platform plans will work out ;-)

As far as I can see, all these program use DirectX to communicate with the camera. So apparently your camera does not have VfW support. I'm afraid there is not much I can do at the moment.
For Dorgem 3 I want to write a DirectX interface, but at the moment there isn't any work done in this area.
