#598 Moving Glitch

Always occurs!
Win32 (67)

I am using Doom legacy 1.44 alpha4 with the original full doom.wad. I noticed if I am running up for example, nothing will happen when i hit left until i let go of the up key. There are a few other minor combinations in which keys like that will not register while another one is being held down. I think down and right works fine, for example. In the old days, I used to run and gun like this all the time, and this is very restrictive and I believe essential to beating the game on Ultra Violence. Thanks for reading my bug report.

DoomLegacy puts the keyboard interface into a mode where key-up and key-down are separate events from SDL and the operating system. It is not possible for it to block one key with another. Such behavior would have to be the keyboard not having n-key rollover, or a keyboard interface, the keyboard driver, or operating system. I have extensively tested DoomLegacy on Linux and Windows operating system using multiple keys simultaneously.

    Relayed from Andrew:
Apology for not responding to original bug message. Not able to. Tested problem with my machine. Legacy 144 alpha 4 win32. I have winxp sp3 with a mouse )ps2 connection, and keyboard connection (ps2) . All keys function properly with my setup. I did have a problem with that on another game , couple of years back, and it was related to my trying to convert the keyboard to a usb plug/connection. I got an adapter , plugged my ps2 connector from the keyboard into it, and plugged that into a usb port on my comp. I got the same problem you're experiencing, so discontinued using the adaptor. Therefore, possibly not related to legacy but your keyboard connection. Hope this helps
