I've been working with Plone for a couple of month now using it as a
Content Management System in a corporate environment. To better suit the
requirements of some of my users I created a set of Products which enhance
Plone's standard Document and Image types in a number of ways:
- reStructuredText instead of StructuredText
- Added an ``embed`` directive that inserts HTML code depending on the
object embedded (Images or media objects). This way <img> always has
valid width= and height= attributes, independent of user intelligence!
- RTemplates : RDocuments depend on a number of Zope Page Templates
which allow you to offer the user different choices of page layouts
like one column, two column etc.
- RImage uses PIL for resizing images before they get delivered to
the browser. When the ``embed`` directive is used the generated HTML
will not only contain ``width=""`` and ``height=""`` attributes for
each image but also make RImage deliver images scaled to that
dimensions. RImage also takes care of using the right aspect ratio
unless the user spcifically overwrites it.
The software is available at
for your enjoyment. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have
questions or comments! (Please use my eMail Address diedrich@...
since I do not usually read this list!)
