Is it possible to create a list that starts with a label number higher than 1?

Continued lists are possible. To create a continued list, place the cursor at the first list item of the continued list. Then click the "Insert/Edit Attributes" button in the toolbar of the editor. In the opened dialog enter the start value for the list item in the field "Start value". See the online tutorial http://www.docmenta.org/onlinedocs/content/tut_lists.html for an example.

... yes, but you run into trouble when you add content above this manual intervention. This kind of documentation errors is very easy to be overlooked.
A real continuation option would be nice.
