Selection or deselction of more than one Document Typ
Desktop search application
Brought to you by:
qforce
Current behavior: at the moment I only can select or deselect a single check box of the document types (e.g. "Plain Text", "MS Word", etc.)
Wished behavior: choose multiple entries of document types and select or deselect the check box for all
Reason: I have a lot of personal notes in plain text files stored in various folders. Therefore I often switch between the selection of all document types and only plain text for my txt files when I want to query only my own notes.
Hi,
DocFetcher 1.0.3 had the following entries in the context menu of the file types pane:
- Check All
- Uncheck All
- Invert Selection
These actions make perfect sense, but didn't make it into the DocFetcher 1.1 betas due to lack of time. They will certainly be added in the future.
Best regards

Implemented in DocFetcher 1.1 beta 4.
This is a very helpful feature for me too, but I didn't think of looking for it in the context menu until I read this post. Would it make sense to add a more noticeable visual cue, like a checkbox next to where it says Document Types, which can serve to check all/uncheck all?
Also, it would be good to add mention of this feature to the Manual.
@ Brent: I think mentioning this in the manual in one or two sentences is a good idea, but I'd prefer not to move the check/uncheck actions out of the context menus, for the sake of overall consistency and cleanness. (Note that the Search Scope context menu has "Check All" and "Uncheck All".)
... on second thought, I'll think about this a little more.
