    Hi,

Scenario: I find a file which is in the wrong place (that is why I searched for it). I would like to move it to the correct place (and rename it).
Therefore I prefer a two-window-browser. One window opens the path the file is in, the other window the folder tree where I can select the target folder. In order to avoid unnecessary clicks, the folder tree which is opened in the second window should be as close as possible to the target folder. Thus, the context menu could offer several entries which open the file browser at individually assigned folder tree-positions...
DF opens the ms explorer, which is for some reason still the assigned standard...

However, I would like to use one of my alternatives.

    My proposal:

allow the definition of a file browser
    allow relative paths
    in case of multi-window-browsers
allow arguments (to define the second (and eventually more) windows/or a profile)
allow multiple entries in the context menu to select one of these profiles/arguments

OR integrate this functionality in DF. This would even allow to immediately correct the indexes...

    Hi,

A feature like this is not going to be implemented anytime soon, since it has a poor cost-benefit ratio. More precisely, it would benefit only a small fraction of power users, clutter up the GUI for normal users, and incur more or less significant development and maintenance costs depending on the concrete implementation.

If anything, you could instead learn Java and make the modifications yourself. The source code is out there.

    Best regards
