I continually get the messgae "It seems an instant of DocFetcher was not terminated cleanly or is still running. Do you want to launch another instance?"
I don't know how to stop the running instance or get around it.
Do you have any suggestions. It's running on Windows 10.
Thank you.
Matt

This just started happening to me a few days ago. Depending on what I'm doing, the first double-click will "do nothing" and the second will generate the error you mentioned. Docfetcher had been stable on my computer for many months. I tried reintall of Java and Docfetcher to no avail. Portable Docfetcher didn't do it either. Maybe rolling back Java to an older version will fix it? Blargh.

Hey! Heisenberg can be so uncertain! I just tried running the portable Docfetcher, got the error, said "yes" to start anyway and.... it worked. Now it starts correctly. It fixed itself!

There is a known problem with Java 8 Update 261. Try downgrading to Java 8 Update 251.
Disabling DocFetcher's global hotkey might help: Close DocFetcher. Search for a file named "settings-conf.txt". Open it with a text editor and change the "HotkeyEnabled" setting to "false".

Thank you both. I made the change suggested by Nam-Quang Tran and it was back to normal. Very much appreciate the software and your assistance.
If the above doesn't work, try cleaning the Java cache, control panel / programs / Java / settings.
