Fails to install a watch on a folder on the system drive
Desktop search application
Brought to you by:
qforce
I indexed two folders on the system drive C:. After indexing and each time after startup, DocFetcher complains that it cannot install a watch on the respective folders (Access Denied). See screen shot.
As a restricted user, I have read and execute but no write access to these folders.
IMHO, DocFetcher is asking for too many privileges. Since it will never write something into the folders, the watch service should be able to get along with only read permission.

Hi,
The folder watching capability is provided by a third-party library named JNotify, so I don't really know how that works or what can be done about it. For next release, I'll just upgrade the JNotify library to a newer version, which might or might not fix this issue.
Best regards
