This comes from an original comment by Elliot:
"On a multi-day event (with multiple sessions), it
would be convenient to be able to display only one day
of sessions at a time. E.g., there are selections
(hyperlinks) for a meeting that would say "See All Days
Sessions", "See April 21 Sessions", "See April 22
Sessions", etc.
[Also] it might also be useful also to see the "AM"
times seperate from the "PM" times (assuming that a
"Lunch Break" separates "AM" from "PM"). E.g., "See
April 21 AM Sessions", "See April 21 PM Sessions", etc."
This is an interesting suggestion. There are a few
things that would have to be worked out first:
1) How does one get to this display, in other words
where are links like "show sessions for Monday" placed
while still avoiding clutter.
2) How is a.m./p.m. defined? How does the code "find"
the lunch break? Some conferences break into two pieces
by dinner (ski conferences). Some break into three
blocks of sessions. Maybe this is a reason to have the
arbitrary levels of subdivision within events that you
were advocating.
2) DocDB let's the organizer set the order of the
sessions. This needn't be chronological, one might list
all plenary sessions first and then parrallels in
chronological order. This may not be an issue given
what is being described.
