It would be useful to have remarks output when draft.mode is yes, not output when draft.mode is no, and output dependent on status when the draft.mode is maybe.

The following code achieves that. (I have tested for draft mode = yes and draft.mode = no, but not maybe.)

<xsl:param name="draft.mode" select="'maybe'"/>
<!-- Be sure draft.mode has been declared before now -->
<xsl:param name="show.comments">
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="$draft.mode = 'yes'">1</xsl:when>
<xsl:when test="$draft.mode = 'maybe' and
ancestor-or-self::*[@status][1]/@status = 'draft'">1</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>0</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:param>

(See this thread: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.text.docbook.apps/21841 )

Would be useful if this could be incorporated into to the DocBook stylesheets.

    I am reclassifying this artifact as a Feature Request rather than a bug.
