No

book/bookinfo/abstract is lost during a db4-upgrade.xsl process :

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<!DOCTYPE book PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.5//EN"
"http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.5/docbookx.dtd">
<book>
<title></title>
<bookinfo>
<title></title>
<abstract>
<para>keep me</para>
</abstract>
</bookinfo>
</book>

becomes:

<!-- Converted by db4-upgrade version 1.0 -->

<book xmlns="http://docbook.org/ns/docbook" version="5.0">

<info><title/>

</info>
</book>

    A fix for this issue has been added to the current codebase.
    Please test the fix with the latest snapshot from:

    http://docbook.sourceforge.net/snapshots/

    Latest snapshot looks good (I had to [patch manually: using:

    "http://docbook.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/docbook/trunk/docbook/relaxng/tools/db4-upgrade.xsl?view=patch&r1=8905&r2=8904&pathrev=8905"

    thanks

    Sorry, I should not have used the canned response. This fixed version will never appear in the XSL snapshots, because that stylesheet file is not distributed as part of the XSL distro. It is part of the DB5 schema distro. It will appear in the next version of DB5.
