18 days and 18 commits

Hello traveller!

18 days ago I started the next expedition down into the Dungeons of Belemar. Today, after 18 commits I am back and successfully recovered the latest release from the vile depth. On the way several bugs were sqashed so that Multiplayer is now really playable. Believe it or not, I took a half-an-hour match with another daring adventurer. Most bugs regarding network behaviour under windows seem to be fixed though there are rumours of a few remaining specimen.... read more

Belemar goes Multiplayer

Hello monster-basher!

It has been some time (almost a month) since the last release for a reason: Very much has changed in Belemar. Nothing in what you see directly (though you might see some bugs as a result of the heavy code changes involved). No something far bigger has happened:

Belemar is now MULTIPLAYER!

Yeah, that's right. Start the server, connect with one, two or fifty clients and play together with your friends! Ok, stop, I can't promise that fifty will work. And even two might will probably only work well in local LAN, but it is possible and will be improved further in the future.... read more

Development-Release r98

Hello friends of deep dark dungeons

Today, I released the latest development snapshot of Dungeons of Belemar.

This is the best release ever with character attributes:
Attack for doing maximum melee damage, Spellpower for increasing magic power, health to survive your enemies and mana for special attacks.

Yes, special attacks. With right mouse button you can do a mighty circle slash, attacking monsters even in your back. This is my favourite attack when I have the mana for it. No target practice, but instead some clean mighty heap of damage. And you can attack with it quite a lot if you level your mana.... read more

New Development Release

Hello together!

There were severe performance problems with the last release, especially under windows. In this release we adressed that problem so on a decent windows pc everything should work fine. There might be problems with older graphics cards, but I hope this is restricted to very old ones.

Further we added a game menu for starting and restarting the game.

So lots of things have changed while others, mainly the game mechanics, have not changed, yet. Work on this will probably start for the next release.... read more
