I'm trying to compile dkim-milter-2.8.3 on Fedora 10, and I'm having some issues which I believe are related to directory creation (or lack thereof): ~/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3$ ./Build install Making all in: /u/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/libar Configuration: pfx=, os=Linux, rel=2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686, rbase=2, rroot=2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10, arch=i686, sfx=, variant=optimized Making in /u/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/obj.Linux.2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686.i686/libar make[1]: Entering directory `/home/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/obj.Linux.2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686.i686/libar' make[1]: Nothing to be done for `install'. make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/obj.Linux.2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686.i686/libar' Making all in: /u/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/libdkim Configuration: pfx=, os=Linux, rel=2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686, rbase=2, rroot=2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10, arch=i686, sfx=, variant=optimized Making in /u/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/obj.Linux.2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686.i686/libdkim make[1]: Entering directory `/home/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/obj.Linux.2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686.i686/libdkim' install -c -o bin -g bin -m 555 ../../libdkim/dkim.h /local/applications/dkim/include/dkim.h install: cannot create regular file `/local/applications/dkim/include/dkim.h': No such file or directory make[1]: *** [install-dkim-includes] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/dmagda/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3/obj.Linux.2.6.27.29-170.2.79.fc10.i686.i686/libdkim' make: *** [all] Error 2 ~/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3$ ll /local total 8 drwxr-xr-x 2 dmagda root 4096 2010-02-18 14:51 applications/ lnx-dmagda:~/sw/src/dkim-milter-2.8.3$ ll /local/applications/ total 0 Does the build/install infrastructure create the leading directories, or does it simply assume that they're there? It seems like the latter. I've tried running 'Build install' as both myself, and as 'root', and neither works. Thanks for any info. |

Should I be going somewhere else for this? This worked for me on FC10: wget http://mirrors.cat.pdx.edu/fedora/linux/updates/10/i386/dkim-milter-2.8.3-3.fc10.i386.rpm rpm -v --checksig dkim-milter-2.8.3-3.fc10.i386.rpm rpm -ivh dkim-milter-2.8.3-3.fc10.i386.rpm You could always download the srpm and review the spec file for guidance: wget http://mirrors.cat.pdx.edu/fedora/linux/updates/10/SRPMS/dkim-milter-2.8.3-3.fc10.src.rpm Nate Itkin |

However, I need to fiddle with it because it's going to be installed on systems where the package is not available. :) Therefore I need to do a compile-from-scratch and roll my own. I've also been informed that the main developer of this at Sendmail left, and there doesn't seem to be anyone there currently developing it. The project has been forked at OpenDKIM, where there's a more active community. |
