I'm using dkim-milter with great success up till lately since we started receiving failed signature checks. We don't know why but it fails sometimes and we are
particularly worried about this fact. We fear that most of the
recipients will just drop our mails and that's a bad thing and we don't
know how many of our mails are failing.
Now on to the tech details:
1001,0,0.15 06:56 root@sb1:~ # uname -a
Linux sb1.junctionj.com 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Nov 3 16:12:36 EST 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
1002,0,0.11 07:05 root@sb1:~ # cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 5.4 (Final)
in /var/log/messages I get these errors, sometimes many of them:
Feb 4 03:30:44 sb1 kernel: dkim-filter trap divide error rip:40b047 rsp:4466cfd0 error:0
Also on some tests that we do we get the
dkim=neutral (body hash did not verify)
message, probably meaning that the signature process got screwed up somewhere.
We sometimes, albeit very seldom, receive these bouncebacks:
<JENNY@xxx.LA>: host smtp.xxx.LA[x.x.x.x] said: 550 Bad DKIM Header
(in reply to end of DATA command)
consider disabling dkim for the time being, email marketing is a
critical part of our NGO. If you have the time to provide me with some
feedback and advice that would be awesome, meanwhile please take this
information and make your product even better if it's useful!
