Ok, so assuming that's a normal message, it's still not signing outgoing e-mails.  Header info on sent mail says the following:

Authentication-Results: mta400.mail.re4.yahoo.com from=www51.rockyou.com; domainkeys=neutral (no sig)

So if the policy record and selector record are passing on DNS, then outgoing mail must still not be signed on the MTA level, right?  So confusing ...

getting this when i tail /var/log/maillog

Feb 20 15:15:01 www51 dkim-filter[15719]: l1KKF1X8027583: no signature data

- Policy and selector records are published to DNS.
- path to private key is correct, file is owned by user dkim which I used to
run the binary
- used this to start the filter : /usr/bin/dkim-filter -l -p
inet:8891@localhost -c simple -d domain.com -s /path/to/private.key.file -s
mail -u dkim -m MSA
- using latest version of sendmail and sendmail-devel rpm

I'm pretty sure that's normal. I don't think it's an error, it's just
what's written to the log when dkim-filter does a *verify* against a
message with no signature. It doesn't indicate a problem with your
signing process.

grep 'no signature data' /var/log/maillog* | wc -l

That's not an error.  It means that the message doesn't contain a
DKIM signature.

You posted to the dk-milter mailing list instead of the dkim-milter list. :)
