divine goes to Japan (and other news)

First off, I'd like to give a quick welcome to those finding divine from the Japanese OSS site moongift.jp. My server logs are full of Japanese IP addresses and the site seems to have generated a lot of interest in divine in the land of the rising sun. So thanks for dropping by :)

Secondly, divine 0.1.3a has been reuploaded in a different .zip format to fix the strange unzipping errors some people were getting on Linux. I'm sorry for the problem, and I added a special .bz2 version to the file release system for those who wish to have it.... read more

In The Works - September 9, 2006

The next release of divine will be version 0.2 alpha, as the largest addition will be the users/groups system and a filesharing capability.
Users will also be allowed to register and begin to use the system beyond the demonstartion capabilities.

Hopefully this release will be ready within a week.

Stay tuned!

New Release! - 0.1.3a

This can be considered a major release for a still very early project. The demo server at demo.notanos.com has been updated to reflect this release.

New features include:

* Updated theme
* New folder browsing
* Expanded window positioning
* New text file editor
* Improved web browser
* Fixed window index issues
* General code cleanup
* And more!

divine can now logout, view folders, stagger windows, open text files,
browse many websites, support onresize for divine windows, and many
other tweaks and fixes. The system is beginning to shape up very well.

In the Works - September 1, 2006

- Start initial development of the application system that will allow JavaScript/PHP, etc. applications to be used with divine.

- Expand the user system to allow groups and permissions for applications documents, themes, etc.... read more

Internet Explorer Compatible

As of divine 0.1.2a, support for Internet Explorer (pre-7) has been enabled by ditching the hasslesome PNGs when running IE and swapping them for similar GIFs. Opacity has also been disabled when running IE, which really makes it miss some cool effects. Sigh.

First Release!

divine has had it's first release, version 0.1b

This is a very, very early version meant more to demonstrate the system and give others a chance to mess with the code.

A demo can be seen at http://demo.notanos.com

Stay tuned!
