I have only tested DIVERSE 3 with Fedora Core 6. I did go through a tedious upgrade process of our CAVE attempting to use Fedora 7 and Ubuntu 7.04. I had issues with both and ended up using Fedora Core 6. I would not necessarily recommend that you use Fedora 6 as its update support will soon be finished. Definitely avoid Fedora 7 as the issues were rather extreme - mainly use of ldap caused boot times to exceed 10 - 15 minutes, stability issues with the kernel, stability issues with the network, and several other issues. For ubuntu, we had issues with our old CRT based projectors but you may not have the same issue since yours are digital. Basically it seemed as though the projectors were receiving some sort of power management commands which being they are old, they did not understand and ended up needing to be reset many times. As far as your system, you may wish to try the latest Ubuntu (it is a good distro) - again I think you will not have the projector issues we faced since you have digital projectors. Avoid Fedora 7 at all costs. Otherwise, it is a matter of what you feel most comfortable with.
