Apparently some EPUB readers expect the content to be in a subdir named "OPS", including the .opf and .ncx files. Make this directory structure the default.
The client couldn't name specific readers but thought they may have been Android readers. This is definitely not a requirement of EPUB but seems to be a side effect of sloppy reader implementation and/or misunderstanding of the EPUB spec.
Would making this the default be an issue for your EPUBs?

Intriguing. I'm a bit surprised we haven't had complaints of that given all the different vendors we sell ours through. And no, this won't be an issue for ours. Thanks for asking.

Understandable! Perhaps this should be controlled through a parameter like the images and topics output dir params? That might just be super overkill. (And again it doesn't bother me.)

Out of curiosity do you know which readers require this?

Hmm. Well it might be a non-issue, but the client is insisting on this organization.
