[displaytag-user] external paging and sorting

Is there no examples to show how this should be done, documentation does not say much. I am using springMVC and hibernate. Everthing works fine with auto paging, but I know this will break once my data volume is more, I want to implement external paging and sorting but i dont find anything clear for this...please help!!!!!
