Hello.
We are planning to move from RedHat9 to Debian.
Probably you know that support for RedHat9 ends in this
spring.
Now all our groups and users are maintained in LDAP
(openldap-2.0.27-8), and samba uses that directory too
(samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0). Users and groups are maintained
in LDAP with directory-administrator-1.5.1. Things are
working great! Some times we use ldap-browser-2.8.2 for
administering LDAP.
In Debian (test release sarge) there is slapd-2.1.23-1
and samba-3.0.2-2. But we cannot use
directory-administrator for administering LDAP, because
schema that comes with samba-3 is different that in
samba-2. In samba3, a new object class
(sambaSamAccount) has been introduced to replace the
old sambaAccount.
Have you any plans to support samba-3 sambaSamAccount
object class? Also I'd like to know what kind of time
schedule do you have?

Tero Valokari
