Here's where I reach:
* modules loads
* dpcstart works (ifconfig shows the device)
* cannot reach the gateway device (no replies received)

When inspecting ifconfig, I see a mac address of all
zeroes -- not sure if this is right.

Also, the subnet mask that gets set doesn't seem to
allow the interface's IP to reach the gateway (although
this works in Windows).

Has anyone made the DirecPC work in Linux?

    The driver doesn't bother to set the MAC address (it's not
    of any consequence, and the MAC addresses on received
    packets varies depending on the type of data (keys, direcpc
    packages, internet data).

    For grey dish systems, you should always have a host route
    for the gateway pointing to a ppp device (or other
    terrestrial network interface).
    For white dish systems, packets to the gateway always go out
    the transmitter, unless you tell it to use a terrestrial
    return path.
