There should be a way for DipStych to preserve EXIF data from one of the original images chosen for the triptych. This could probably be coded using the exiftool program and its TagsFromFile command line function. It's a real hassle having to do this yourself.
The problem I can see is that it would be difficult to work out which EXIF data to keep, and how meaningful it would be for the resulting diptych.
Maybe the EXIF data for the various files could be compared and any data that is the same for all input files could be applied to the resulting diptych.
