Well, FMOD isn't exactly compatible with the GPL.  Besides that, most 
people don't have FMOD on their computer; and it being dynamically 
linked would mean the people have to go download it.  OpenAL doesn't do 
that.  Also, OpenAL sounds *so* much cooler than FMOD. :-D
