Dimdim 4.5 on XP VMware issues

    Hello,

I've been using your software since v3.5. The recent flash player upgrade bug has caused me to try to move to v4.5. After I import the image into VMware and run it, I can get a ip using ifconfig. However, when I try to access the following ip/dimdim/ firefox gives a Network Timeout error. There is no firewall blocking it. Any ideas why this would be?

      Another bit of information.

When I type ifconfig into the terminal, I get 128.X.X.X out. When I try to go to 128.X.X.X/dimdim/ sometime redirects me to 192.X.X.X for some reason.

When I ping 192.X.X.X I get the following
Pinging 192.X.X.X with 32 bytes of data:
      Request timed out.
      Request timed out.
      Request timed out.
      Request timed out.
      Ping statistics for 192.X.X.X:
          Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

When I ping 128.X.X.X I get the following
Pinging 128.X.X.Xwith 32 bytes of data:
      Reply from 128.X.X.X: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
      Reply from 128.X.X.X: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
      Reply from 128.X.X.X: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
      Reply from 128.X.X.X: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
      Ping statistics for 128.X.X.X:

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
          Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms

Any idea why it's redirecting me somewhere else?

I tried the bcast ip, and now firefox has stopped redirecting and is instead displaying a "failed to connect" error.

      Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 128.59.151.255.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

          * Are you unable to browse other sites?  Check the computer's network connection.
          * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

You need to run /usr/local/dimdim/Config-ipaddress.pl to make dimdim aware of what IP and port to use.  For example:

      Config-ipaddress.pl 128.59.x.x 80

      Hi,

After the Dimdim vmware image is downloaded, you need to configure the ip address and start Dimdim.

As mentioned above configure the ip address and start Dimdim. If you have a DHCP address, ensure that the ip address did not get changed for this machine.

      Thanks,
      -Rajesh

Great, I just got 4.5 working thanks to your instructions.

Where is the config file though? There was a file in 3.5 where I could easily change, for example, the page people were directed to once the meeting ended.
