There are two changes in version 1.4 that really set it apart from the previous versions and justify me creating version 1.4 instead of version 1.3.2.
1) Magic Quotes no longer needs to be turned on. PHP has a setting called Magic Quotes (turned on by default) that will escape apostrophies before putting them in a database. While this is a handy feature, some hosts choose to turn this off.
