Hi,

Who provides support for the DiGIR Portal posted on SourceForge?

I work for the Bedford Institute of Oceanography.  We hope to provide data sets to OBIS but would like to verify our datasets before we do.

I set up a DiGIR provider using the GBIF kit.  That seems to be working properly.

I installed Tomcat 4.1.30 using the standard deployment method, that seems to be working.

I followed the instructions for the DiGIR Portal posted here but when I get to the section that asks us to list the providers I get an error:

URL -- http://serverFQDN:8080/portal/PortalServlet?action=getProviders

Response from the server:
HTTP 404
The Requested resource (/Portal/PortalServlet) is not available.

I did see the note about changing docbase from "/" to "", did that but I don't believe Tomcat can find the DiGIR Portal servlet.  The portal files are not a subdirectory of Tomcat, where the admin and manager directories are, they are in a completely separate directory tree (see below).

I am not clear on how we are supposed to tell Tomcat where to find the portal.  Do the DiGIR Portal instructions walk us through that?

This is a Windows2003 server in our DMZ.

Directory structure:
DiGIR Portal root is D:\DiGIR
Tomcat is installed in D:\Tomcat 4.1  (note the space, Tomcat puts that there by default)
DiGIR Provider (GBIF) is installed in D:\opt\digirpro

Cordially,
Pat.
