Hi,

In gimp the tablet options is in the Configure Input Devices dialogue. It can be accessed from the preferences window's input devices -> Configure Extended input devices or from the Edit menu's Input devices item. I guess you are talking about that the tablet is not appearing on that dialog. Can you give the check output of the xinput command running from the terminal? The tablet is appearing on the list?
If not probably your tablet is not set up correctly. And as far as I know the intuos 5 is a wacom tablet so I guess you should follow the instructions here: http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page.
