You can use your tablet with the latest development kernel drivers [1] and the xf86-input-wacom drivers and then attempt the configuration as described. However, I don't see how the answer in the linked question above helps. The bottom side pen button should be bound to the middle mouse button anyway. I also don't know of a system-wide way to implement this. Some applications support this (holding middle button and moving around), such as GIMP and MyPaint, IIRC, but not all of them.
