Hi Vince,

I had a chance to talk to Nick today.

The version that you had is from the experimental huion-abstract-keyboard
branch. Nick explained, that while it might work for us for now, it's a dead 
end because it can not go into mainline like this due to reasons related to
libinput / X.org.

So that clarifies where you got your version from and why it works while
all others don't.
