Hi Vikko,
I'll be copying digimend-devel from now on, so others can benefit from our
discussion. I should've done it from the start. Please keep the maillist in
the CC by answering using "Reply to all".

You don't need to install it, but you need to build it.
First you'll need to install build dependencies:
sudo apt-get install autotools-dev autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libxml2-dev
Then unpack the archive and go into the resulting directory and build the
package:
./bootstrap && ./configure && make
Please send the output, if it fails.
If it succeeds, you'll then be able to run usbhid-dump from the same directory
as such:
src/usbhid-dump
You'll be able to dump input from your tablet as such:
src/usbhid-dump -m 0458:501a -es
If it works, please proceed with "Collect raw samples" and further from the
diagnostic collection HOWTO, using the command above, redirecting the output
to files, as described.
Thank you.
Nick
