On a second thought and slightly more observation I think the problem is
more complicated. The only affected coordinate is X. Furthermore, with
non-identity (non-default) matrix, only Y is sometimes omitted, but never X.
With the identity matrix set, both happen to be omitted sometimes, as usual.

Anyway, I'll continue looking into it.
