Hi, It is ACE 5.4.7 as far as I know. Upgrading the ACE version in OpenDiameter would improve things, but will be some work. I have tried to get permissions to commit to the opendiameter repository, but never heard back. Hi, This is Gajanan.I am new to Diameter Protocol. I am using the openDiameter library for my server application. I have some questions regarding openDiameter library(version 1.0.7). 1. Can you tell me which is the best ACE library version for Open Diameter library 1.0.7????? 2. When I run Server and Client in loopback mode sometimes they connect and exchanges the messages but sometimes they dont connect at all... is it only because I am running in loopback mode????????? 3. I am running the sample programs given in the libdiameter folder, when I run a client program and when it ends a session with the server while closing it gets a segmentation fault. When I debug using gdb, it shows that the error is in ACE library. 4. I hve developed my Diameter Server application and Client application when I run both the programs I noticed the following things: a. When Client tries to disconnect the session sometimes Server gets a Segmenation fault...... and client terminates normally. b. It's an intermittent problem sometimes it occurs c. When I tried to debug I found the following................. Hello, I have installed opendiameter-1.0.7-i in my PC (FC 14). Now I 'm trying to set up a simple MD5 test between client and AS through NAS. As guidelines for this test I use the following link: http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/community_posts/my_opendiameter_experience_part_ii_setting_simple_3_party_eap_md5_test However, after making all the suggested changes to the configure files and runing nasd and aaad deamons, the pacd always dies after it indicates "Dictionary loaded successfully". I even used the wireshark to monitor the pacd and found no packets were send. PACD configuration (ver 1.0.0) PANA config file: config/pana_pac.xml Username : tes...@lo... Auth script : config/pana_test_auth_script Use Archie : 1 Auth Period : 45 Thread Count : 5 General configuration Listen Port : 3002 Dictionary : config/nasd_pana_dictionary.xml Re-Transmission IRT : 10 MRC : 3 MRT : 5 MRD : 360 Session-Lifetime: 10 Client configuration PAA IP Adress : localnas PAA Port Number : 3001 EAP Response Timeout : 3 EAP Piggyback : 1 Dictionary loaded successfully Best Regards, Bing LI |

Hi, I have installed the opendiameter-1.0.7-i in Linux (FC 14). However, when I tried to test it, the error happened. It failed to open XML file. I have install the ACE (version of 5.7.4), Boost (version of 1.41.0) and the Xerces-c (version of 3.1.1). Moreover, I have modified the files of 'opendiameter/libodutl/inlud/od_utl_xml_sax_parser.h' and 'opendiameter/libodutl/src/od_utl_xml_sax_parser.cpp' (using the 'size_t' instead of 'int' in the function of 'characters'). I have set 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH'. When I run '.aaa_test_server1' in the directory of 'libdiameter', the result was as fellows. Hi, Seems opendiameter-1.0.7-i is using a lot of ACE things that got deprecated. Also the refactoring of headers seems to break things. I have tried to get commit permission already a few times to resolve this, but no luck until now. We are delivering support service for ACE and could assist with updating OpenDiameter. An update to the latest ACE version should give more stability, but also a much better performance. Hello, I have downloads the source code of opendiameter-1.0.7-i. According to the ReadMe file, I have installed the softwares of Openssl(1.0.d), ACE(6.0.3), automake(2.68), automake(1.9.6),libtool(2.2.10) in my computer with linux (FC 14) operation system. Dear Sir, I am doing the research in networking for 6 years and just obtained my doctor degree at Tianjin UNiversity, China. Now I continue the my research about network access control and very interested in the source code of PANA and EAP. I hope to obtain the source code. Could you give me a favor to send it to me? Thanks. ---------------- Best Regards, Bing LI ---------------- Best Regards, Bing LI |

Hi, > 1. Need Instructions how to cross compile ACE and Open Diameter Library > for Power PC Platform. OpenDiameter really uses an ancient version of ACE. Newer versions of ACE are much easier to use with cross compilation, but that seems nobody has tried that. Upgrading OpenDiameter to for example ACE 6.0.2 seems to be some work, but probably doable. If someone is willing to fund our time to do this upgrade, Remedy IT could do this, assuming we get commit rights to the OpenDiameter archive. 1. Need Instructions how to cross compile ACE and Open Diameter Library for Power PC Platform. 2. I need to implement the following Scenario. *3 Diameter clients and 1 Diameter server that are in the same Realm. * The Diameter Server has to handle the requests from all the 3 clients and respond to them correspondingly. 3. What are the changes to be done in the code snippets test_client1.cxx(for the clients) and test_server1.cxx(for server) and also the changes to be done in the configuration files isp.local.xml and nas1.local.xml to achieve the above scenario. 4. I am also having some doubts in the Transport protocol and the port no's that is used by the client and server. *In the client config file * <peer> <hostname>server.isp.net</hostname> <port>3868</port> <use_sctp>0</use_sctp> <tls_enabled>0</tls_enabled> </peer> *In the server config file * <peer> <hostname>nas.access1.net</hostname> <port>1811</port> <use_sctp>1</use_sctp> <tls_enabled>0</tls_enabled> </peer> *Can't i use the tcp protocol in both client and server and port no as 3868. Please explain the purpose of peer table and route table used in the config file. Some times when i run the sample code snippets provided with the Open Diameter Library i am getting the following errors with a segmentation fault. Hello, My name is Bassem Tannous, and I am Integration team manager in MIND CTI (www.mindcti.com). I'm interested in the definition document of the Gy interface for Diameter protocol in CDMA environment . This means, that field content will be "flavored" with CDMA terminology. For example - If there is a field identifying the subscriber - it will probably be the MIN (and not the IMSI as in GSM). Is there a way to get this document? Thank you in advance, |

Hi, Which ACE version did you use? It can be that on some platforms we don't implicitly include some headers. Has anyone considered to use MPC for OpenDiameter to generate all make files? Hello , I got the latest version of Open Diameter from your source forge repository to build it under *Windows*. I added the dependencies one by one until I ran int the following: 1. The DiameterParser project had was had files that dont exist under (~diameter\cplusplus\libdiameter\src ) or ( ~\diameter\cplusplus\libdiameter\include ) . 2. I edited the project that it uses the files existing in the directory. I ran into this error: (error C3861: 'strcasecmp': identifier not found, even with argument-dependent looku) some source file trying to use this function ( which is defined in the * strings.h* header file in UNIX systems ) which is causing this error. It appeared to me that you should be using some headers that define such function, I found it to be in the ( ACE_wrappers ) library , however your source files weren't includeing any of its header filse. Could it be that you restructured your source code without updating the Windows Solution structure ? Can you please direct me to some place where I can find updated code base (if available ) ? Thank you in Advance. --Sameer Abu Asal , -- 962 788 097886. |

Hi, I have a question related to the way on how nested grouped AVP's should be retrieved. It seems i can't retrieve the nested grouped AVP's. The structure is something similar to this ( simple example ) : <avp name="multiple services credit control" (grouped)> <avp name="Granted-Service-Unit" (grouped)> ........... My code is like this: AAA_GroupedAvpContainerWidget MSCCWidget(msg()->acl); diameter_grouped_t *grouped = MSCCWidget.GetAvp ("Multiple-Service-Credit-Control", 0); if (grouped!=NULL) { AAA_GroupedAvpContainerWidget RSUWidget(*grouped); diameter_grouped_t *groupedRSU = RSUWidget.GetAvp ("Requested-Service-Unit", 0); if (groupedRSU==NULL) { //always true } } What is the correct way of retrieving the nested grouped AVP's? Thank you, |

Hi, I am implementing credit control application that I had downloaded from http://diameter.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/diameter/cplusplus/libdiametercc/ Initially I am trying to send and receive basic message transfer with different attributes. I am successfully able to send and receive the following attributes... ccrData.UserName ccrData.OriginHost ccrData.OriginRealm ccrData.EventTimestamp ccrData.OriginStateId ccrData.CCSubSessionId ccrData.ServiceContextId ccrData.CCRequestNumber RequestedServiceUnit UsedServiceUnit RatingGroup OriginStateId CCSubSessionId GrantedServiceUnit SubscriptionID But When I am trying to send the final Unit Indication AVP from server side server is able to send but At the client side I am not able to receive this AVP and it is showing that the avp is not set. and hence at the time of printing values it is giving some garbage value. Also In case of serviceParameterInfo avp I am able to send the ServiceParameterType but I am not able to send the ServiceParameterValue. for ServiceParameterValue I am getting error at the time of parsing. Can any body tell may be the the problem. In case anybody have already done so pl. share. Thank you Abhishek |

I've recently installed OpenDiameter on my Debian Linux system. At the moment i'm trying to set up a simple MD5 test between client and AS through NAS. As guidelines for this test i use the following link: http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/community_posts/my_opendiameter_experience_part_ii_setting_simple_3_party_eap_md5_test However after making all the suggested changes to the config files,and successfully running nasd and aaad daemons,the pacd gives a segmentation fault error. dimondat:/home/dimondat/Desktop/opendiameter-1.0.7-i/applications/pana# ./pacd -f /etc/opendiameter/pana/config/pana_setup.xml PACD configuration (ver 1.0.0) PANA config file: /etc/opendiameter/pana/config/pana_pac.xml Username : tes...@lo...
