Instead of using a format for naming "Smart Tracks" like you have now:

(003) 2007/07/20 07:20:10 (2666 Points)

how about something like

2007/07/20 7:20am (3h 50m)
or
2007/07/20 7:20am to 11:10am

Why?

1) When using "Smart Track", having the smart track number displayed is not useful to me, as I rarely have more than 5-10 (as opposed to the GlobalSat default of many groups of 96 points)

2) I don't care about time precision (on the label) to the second.

3) I prefer human readable time (am/pm) to 24 hour format

4) I don't really care how many points I have. I'm more interested in how long I was tracking.

5) Another interesting option would be to allow this Smart Track tag to be user editable. That way I could rename a smart track "Bristol Harbour Golf", which would be even more meaningful to me than the date/time/length

I agree that more/other information is useful in the name of each track. But the way people use the device differs and also from time to time. So I think a dialog for the user to define the generation of the smart track name is a good idea. And please let the user deside over time/date formats.

A choice of track name formats would be useful. I would prefer to have yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss-hh:mm:ss as my default label format.
User configurable format would be perfect, especially if we could store our own format, as I may want different ones for different projects.
