Project Scope

The scope of the project is to convert the definition text from DEX'98, downloaded from http://www.dexonline.ro to the highly structured format that Wiktionary requires.
The project can also be used to check and analyse a database of definitions that use the structure and encoding that is usually used by DEX (Dicționarul Explicativ al Limbii Române) - in other words, any database with definitions coming form from any edition of DEX.

Features

  • possibility to correct the source data in various points: definition in full, part of the definition, etimology, map (link between definitions and lexems) and root lexem for any inflection
  • tight separation of source data, corrections to the data and code
  • tight separation between interface-related code and data processing code
