    Does Dev-PHP run on Linux?

    • Leonardo García

Nope. Some time ago a Dev-PHP user made a Linux port using Kylix, but it was based on Dev-PHP 1.0.1 or 1.1.0 so it is very old now.
My HD was screwed up about 6 months ago by Win98 so i can't install linux unless i clean the whole disk (and that's something i don't wanna do).
      Cya!

You can partition your hard drive without cleaning the whole disk if you get Partition Magic! :)

    • Leonardo García

I've already tried. Partition Magic doesn't run on my machine 'cause the partition table is screwed up.

-You can use DiskDrake by booting from a Linux Mandrake CD-ROM.

-You can use Knoppix to develop under Linux without re-partition your hard disk

-I can make a port of this project with Kylix :)

      Josean:

i am currently porting the Alpha 3 release (by building something like a patch for the sourcecode -> for re-usability) to linux.

of cource it might take some time... btw.: half was done untill my partition table screwed up (by M$ WInXP)... seems to be a common problem...
telling u cuz of linux reinstalling ...

Leonardo: i am getting a ne HD to backup everything ... should try that... (after that u can reinstall ;-P )

will keep ya uptodate - except someone else is done before me ...

Maybe you know this software but,... Isn't Dev-PHP "portable" to linux using Lazarus (lazarus.freepascal.org)?

    • Leonardo García

Yes, I know Lazarus, but since it is in a very early development stage, Dev-PHP components like TBX and others won't compile.
