when the cursor is next to a bracket, braces, the open and close bracket is highlighted black, how can i change the highlight color to something lighter, like lightgrey
because its a bit confusing when highlighting other words including the bracket

the color of the highlighted bracket is the inverted forgroundcolor of the symbol-color in the options-dialog. If you take a grey for the brackets then the color of the highlightning is not so hard.

oh not really correct. the forground and the backgroundcolors are changed when highlighting.
