Last night I ran a batch job query for the specific device counters. There were no flapping counters whatsoever! It is still running. This is a vm, a RHEL server, newer xymon version, newer devmon version, different Perl version. I also deployed the if_load-test on my current Xymon server. Yes, hardware, SLES, and different in many ways. But the test shows valid counters. So the puzzle is which of these nasty different thing (hw vs vm, OS, Perl, Xymon, devmon, ...) is the culprit. I hope to have this fixed a.s.a.p.
