Hmm, I do not experience this problem. For instance, the OIDs used in 
template cisco-3750/if_load is:

ifBps        : .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5       : branch
ifName       : .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.1    : branch
ifInOctets   : .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6    : branch
ifOutOctets  : .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10   : branch
ifAlias      : .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18   : branch

Both ifInOctets and ifOutOctets are 64-bit counters.
