Hi Buchan, What version of the hpasm suite are you using to extend the snmp daemon? The template was developed using the hpasm-7.5.x suite, and I currently having it running without problem on version hpasm-7.7.0-115. -Eric -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... Subject: [Devmon] devmon vs missing/empty indexes (compaq) I'm currently using the cim check from deadcat to monitor our ProLiant's, and=20 I would like to try and move to using devmon instead. I tried the compaq-server template, which only currently includes a 'raid'=20 test, but this did not work against the server I initially tested. I was getting the following messages: [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for sprDrvCntIndex on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for phyDrvStatus on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for logDrvSprIds on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for sprDrvStatus on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for phyDrvBay on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for logDrvPhysIds on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for logDrvCntIndex on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for phyDrvCntIndex on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for logDrvStatus on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for cntrlStatus on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for phyDrvSize on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for phyDrvSpeed on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for sprDrvIndex on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for cntrlIndex on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for logDrvSize on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for logDrvFaultTol on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] No SNMP data found for cntrlCondition on server [07-06-19@20:12:44] Missing repeater data for cntrlIndex for raid msg [07-06-19@20:12:44] Missing repeater data for sprDrvIndex for raid msg And I was the following: =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Controller status: clear Missing repeater data for primary OID cntrlIndex ID Controller Fault Tolerance Size OS name Pysical IDs Spare IDs Status 1 Undefined Undefined Undefinedmb /dev/cciss/c0d0 Undefined Undefined clear=20 Undefined Physical drive status: ID Controller Bay Model Firmware Rev Speed Size Status 16 0 Undefined COMPAQ BF07285A36 HPB7 Undefined Undefinedmb clear Undefined 17 0 Undefined COMPAQ BF07285A36 HPB7 Undefined Undefinedmb clear Undefined 18 0 Undefined COMPAQ BF07285A36 HPB7 Undefined Undefinedmb clear Undefined Spare drive status: clear Missing repeater data for primary OID sprDrvIndex =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D # grep cntrlIndex oids.orig cntrlIndex : 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.2.1.1.1 : branch # snmpwalk -v2c -c community server 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.2.1.1.1 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.2.1.1.1.0 =3D INTEGER: 0 # grep sprDrvIndex oids.orig sprDrvIndex : 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.4.1.1.2 : branch # snmpwalk -v2c -c community server 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.4.1.1.2 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.4.1.1.2 =3D No Such Instance currently exists at=20 this OID (the server only has one controller, and there is no hot spare) So, I removed all aspects of the controller and spare drive bits from all the=20 relevant files, and now I have this: =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Logical drive status: ID Controller Fault Tolerance Size OS name Pysical IDs Spare IDs Status 1 0 Distributed data guard 138919mb /dev/cciss/c0d0 16,17,18 green OK Physical drive status: ID Controller Bay Model Firmware Rev Speed Size Serial Status 16 0 0 COMPAQ BF07285A36 HPB7 15k rpm 69460mb 3HW2MAYH000075238CJ9 green OK 17 0 1 COMPAQ BF07285A36 HPB7 15k rpm 69460mb 3HW229YX000075123YAG green OK 18 0 2 COMPAQ BF07285A36 HPB7 15k rpm 69460mb 3HW2N4R400007525602G green OK =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D (I added the serial number column as well) Now, I get the following in the devmon log: [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvStatus on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvSpeed on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvSerial on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvModel on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvSprIds on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvName on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvIndex on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvFwRev on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvBay on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvPhysIds on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvCntIndex on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvIndex on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvCntIndex on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvStatus on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvSize on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for logDrvFaultTol on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] No SNMP data found for phyDrvSize on server [07-06-19@20:56:29] Missing repeater data for logDrvIndex for raid msg [07-06-19@20:56:29] Missing repeater data for phyDrvIndex for raid msg So: 1)Why am I still getting these error messages 2)What can be done to prevent the problems I had above (without breaking monitoring of spare drives etc.).
